Millions of dogs enter shelters every year in the USA. In the typical animal shelter, dogs are confined to a kennel with floors made of sealed concrete or fiberglass so that they are easy to clean and disinfect. Sleeping, standing, and sitting on these unyielding surfaces day after day is a terribly uncomfortable experience for a dog.
The Let Sleeping Dogs Lie Project will provide a bed for as many shelter dogs as possible. We believe that a comfortable place to rest should be a right - not a luxury - for a shelter dog.
The simple act of providing each dog with a bed will dramatically improve their quality of life and stay at a shelter. Durable elevated dog beds with vinyl or ballistic nylon fabrics provide a comfortable yielding surface for the dog to rest - away from the cold, heat, and moisture of the hard flooring. These beds evenly distribute a dog’s weight preventing joint-related difficulties and calluses.
The only source of funding for the LSDL project is your kind and generous donations. Be assured that your funds will directly change the world for a homeless dog who will be extremely grateful to have a bed to rest, sleep, and dream of his future home!
